What is consignment?

Consignment is when I list your item(s) on my platforms and pay you out after the item sells. I have two modes of consignment: traditional and middleman. 

Traditional consignment is when you ship me your item to professionally photograph and list on my website and social media platforms.

Middleman consignment is when you keep your item with you and I list it on my social media platforms. When the item sells, you will be paid out when the buyer receives the item. The prospective buyer will pay the full amount prior to shipment, however, funds are not released to you until the item is delivered to the buyer. This is to ensure the safety of all parties.

What is a buyout?

A buyout is when I offer to directly purchase your item(s) and issue payment within 72 hours of receiving, reviewing, and authenticating your item(s).

All item(s) sold to Carly Julia Sells Stuff as a buyout are final once payment has been issued.

What brands do you accept for consignment and/or buyout?

For buyout quotes, I accept the following brands: Hermes, Chanel, Van Cleef, & Cartier. 

For consignment, I accept most premium luxury brand. 

Due to my limited financial capital and labor capacity as a small business, I am unable to offer quotes for every item submitted to my website. 

Consignment fees:

Consignment fees vary based on the item(s) sale price. 

$2,000 or less = $150 fee

$5,000 or less = $300 fee 

$5,000-10,000 = 8-10% fee 

$15,000-$20,000 = 6% fee

$20,000+ = 5% fee 

Consignors are responsible for additional authentication fees related to their items. Due to rapidly changing market conditions, quotes are only guaranteed for 15 business days.

There is a $150 charge for the return of non-authentic goods or goods where the condition was not described accurately (i.e. undisclosed flaws that make the item ineligible for consignment). Moreover, undisclosed flaws will result in adjusted consignment estimates to accurately reflect value. If consigner does not agree with the adjusted estimate, a $100 return charge is incurred in addition to the cost of initial and return shipment. Items should be consistent with the quality of products displayed on Carlyjuliasellsstuff.com 

Shipping your item:

A prepaid label from CJSS is provided. Provided labels are insured and the cost of shipping and insurance is deducted from your final payout. Please provide accurate package weight and measurements so that the cost of the label is accurate.

CJSS  is not responsible for packages lost during transit, nor for any weather-related damage or delays. We are committed to helping you every step of the way with filing an insurance claim and/or following up with the shipping service in the event of a lost or delayed package. You may request a copy of our selected 3rd party insurance policy. Our insurance partner is Cabrella, LLC.

Listing of Item: 

Items generally take 5-10 business days to be photographed and listed. 

Items are listed on Carlyjuliasellstuff.com and our respective social media platforms as well as relevant third party platforms (Ebay, etc). 

Return consignment:

CJSS makes every effort to only accept items that we believe will sell quickly. If after 90 days, the item has not sold, you can request for it to be returned. Consigner is only responsible for the initial shipping cost and the cost of return shipment. No additional fee is incurred. 

A $200 fee will be applied if this request comes before the 90 day period to cover time spent photographing and marketing.

Payouts:

We will send payment for sold items via the payment method of your choice (ie Wire, PayPal, Zelle, Venmo, etc). Due to the volume of requests, sometimes Zelle will be unavailable due to daily sending limits. 

For buyout agreements, payment is issued within 72 hours of receipt of the item. For consignment, payment is issued within 5 business days of the item's sale.

Please note that payouts may in rare cases be delayed due to travel, vacation, or illness.
